Our global vision
The vision is global. The first launch is American. The mission is human.

The idea
Addiction exists in every country. The science of how it works is largely shared; the help available is not. Crisis lines, treatment systems, laws, languages, and cultures differ from place to place.
GAREP's long-term vision is a network of national platforms — each led locally, written in local languages, with verified local resources — all sharing the same mission, editorial standards, design, and technology.
What exists today
Possible future chapters are ideas, not plans with dates. Names such as garep.uk, garep.il, garep.ca, or garep.au are illustrations of how a chapter might be named; they are not registered, operational, or affiliated GAREP sites.
How a chapter would work
- Local leadership and contributors who know their country's health system
- Crisis and treatment resources verified locally before publishing
- Content in local languages, reviewed by fluent clinicians — never unreviewed machine translation of safety information
- Country-specific privacy and legal responsibilities
- Visitor and community data kept within each chapter, not shared across countries
If you're outside the United States
You are welcome here. The education, science, and many of the tools on GAREP are useful wherever you live. Our help directory lists U.S. services only, so in an emergency please contact your local emergency number and your country's health services.
